Chapter 8: Ally?
It had been a week since Jordan had obtained the powers of darkness. He was still learning to fully control the powers, but his training was coming along nicely. Many of his powers had to do with lightning and electrical current manipulation. An added benefit however, was his athletic ability. He could already run faster than anyone in the school, jump high enough to get his head to a basketball rim, and lift a decent amount in weights. The added boost of electricity flowing through his veins only boosted his athletic ability. His speed was so fast, the human eye could not view it, so it seemed as if he was

Chapter 6: Sorrow
Flame and Tide had just linked and were now gliding above the city, through the buildings and skyscrapers, chasing after a flying shadow creature. The monster had triggered a sound that only Chris and Paul could hear unlinked, a benefit to becoming the Spirit Guardians. It served as a warning that some creatures were about to, or had already attacked. This creature, though, was eluding them. Every time they turned a corner they would just miss it, seeing its tail swoosh around the next building.
“Damn, this thing’s fast!” Flame proclaimed as he narrowly missed a building.
“Try to he

Chapter 5: Secrets
It had begun just like any other day. Jordan stirred in his sleep; groggy, drowsy, and half-way awake. He did not want to go to school today. Ignoring his feeling, he dragged himself out of bed and into his morning routine. Going downstairs and getting a good pair of clothes on, brushing his teeth, and getting some breakfast. Soon he was out the door and on his way to school. Something felt off today though, he felt as if he had forgotten something. Thinking nothing of it, he easily shrugged it off as he crossed the tracks that blocked his path to school.
When he arrived at the campus, it was blank, desol

Chapter 4: Anger
A few days had passed since Chris and Paul had become guardians. In those days they spent most of their time training in the command center beneath their previous home. Both were learning at a rapid rate, acquiring knowledge of their physical and mental limits while in their guardian armors. The armors would boost both of their capabilities, but did not make them anywhere near invincible. When enough harm had been done, the armor would fade off of them, leaving them vulnerable to the creatures of darkness. Behind the scenes, however, someone else was doing his daily training routine.
Jordan was inside of his

Chapter 3: Revelations
After the school had been evacuated due to the fire, Paul had left and began walking home. Fire trucks whizzed by him quickly, obviously heading to the school for the fire situation. Something was off though. The air had a strange smell in it, almost that of something burning close by. Just then, he saw a being in red. The being walked slowly and casually toward him, fire emanating from the sides and beneath its feet. As it grew closer, he noticed that the being did not have an aggressive demeanor to its step, rather a passive one. Then he realized who it was.
“Brother?”
The being stopped

Chapter 2: Awakening
As the flames consumed his body, he felt not a burning sensation melting away at him, rather a warming embrace-like tightness around him. Almost like the fire was acting as a tight knit coil around him. Suddenly, his right forearm began to glow a fiery, passionate red. The glow seemed to resonate with the fire, making the fire feel like it originated from the glowing area. But the area which was glowing confused Chris. That had been the spot of his unique birthmark, one that had never been seen or documented about. As the flames drew even closer, the warmth and tightness faded, only to be replaced by an
